Eight:19
About Eight:19 and its members
The band:

Lead singer, Guitar, Saxophone
Backing vocals, Guitar

The band started in about 2004 when Bob and Gorgon met in 6th form. They began learning guitar with covers of Marilyn Manson, Rammstein and Tenacious D before moving on to write their own material. They wrote songs in pubs and were even bought shots for playing for a random girls 18th birthday (her name was Steph), and are still on the lookout for more band members. Now they are preparing to record a demo whilst scouting out more venues.

Bob and Gorgon originally named the band 'Genesis 8:19', after the biblical passage, but shortened the name to 'Eight:19' in 2009 because we got fed up with people assumng we were either a christian or Phil Collins cover band.

Bob

Bob tried to learn many instruments including violin, recorder, saxophone and cornet, failing most of them miserably. Bob learned guitar with Gorgon to while away the free periods (and the not so free ones) in 6th form. He used to be involved in a school choir and played guitar for 'modern' hymns in a local church at a monthly event. Bob is currently trying to find the time to learn bagpipes amongst writing songs, selling drugs (in a pharmacy - sorry people!), working on developing this site and, until recently, working as an IT consultant.

Gorgon

Gorgon learned to play the guitar with Bob, having much previous experience playing with wood... wind... instruments. (Well he's not denying it.) Andy Gorgon has achieved a level of competency with guitar unmatched by any other Gorgon known to Eight:19, including Medusa and Shishido. Of course, our Gorgon has the benefit of not being a fictional character. When asked whether playing guitar is difficult, Gorgon's trademark reply is "not the way I play it". Gorgon's back-up singing has been known to turn audience members to stone: we take no responsibility for any injury caused by our performance.
